“YOU WERE THERE”

You were there when I was born,

When I received the Holy Ghost,

When we became a pastor’s family,

And then bought your church building.

Then you weren’t there when…

I got my permit, or when I turned 16,

You won’t be there when it’s time

For you to preach my wedding,

Or when I have children,

Or when I buy my first house.

But, you will always be in my heart,

Always in my mind, and

Always in my walk with God.

You will always be in Heaven,

Where the angels sing as you

Welcome people into the pearly gates of Heaven.

You’ll be wearing your crown of Gold,

And sitting next to the throne of God.

I miss you and I love you Big Daddy!
